Goals for 2017

 :
Happy New Year!
I know I said in the last post that you should only say happy new year once because it's awkward to say it twice, but saying it here fits with the theme of the post lool so whatever~

This post is coming out a little late, as most bloggers made their Goals/Resolutions posts during the first few days of the year lol. But I felt like posting my goals anyway, because I wanted to. We still have 341 days of the year left haha~ So, I don't think I need an introduction for what this post is about, so I'm going to jump straight into it!

Do-able Goals
The simple ones, really. These are the goals I have no doubt I will achieve sometime this year.

Reinvent myself. currently already in progress. I went shopping and picked up a new scent (bath/shower products and perfume), and ordered a bunch of new clothes to update my wardrobe. I'm learning to love myself again. I'm eating good, and I'm about to restart my workout routine. My bullet journal is keeping me organized, and while I'm not religious, I firmly believe that this year, only god can bring me down.

Read more. Again, already currently in progress. Throughout the end of this year I started reading a lot more books such as, the Shatter Me Series, the Fixed Series, and finally finishing Murakami's After Dark. I don't want to give myself a high number since I feel like i'll never reach the goal, so i'm going to play it safe and say, 15 books. I've already started with this goal, currently reading a new Murakami Book I picked up at a cute little book store in London, titled Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman (I might review this later!)

Learn to cook more. I've been pretty good last year with my cooking and I feel like it's good up in skill points haha. However, while my recipes are amazing (trust me, everyone loves my cooking!!), I don't make enough of them, so i need to learn new recipes so that i can put my own spin on them lol. I might even make some posts on this too!

Continue learning Japanese. As with my cooking skills, I've gotten a lot better in my japanese, which is another goal I made last year. I am now able to understand conversational japanese, which is the basic form of it. I've also learn the hiragana and some kanji too! This year I want to further improve the skills I already have, and also be able to speak with people in japanese. I might look for a tutor, as everything up till this point has been self taught. I want my skills to be good enough for when I visit japan, hopefully next year.

Bigger Goals
These are the goals that will probably be a lot harder for me to achieve, but as they say, it's good to have these kind of goals anyway so that have that year plan set out for you.

Learn Theory. My mum has started to nag at me about this, but I've had this planned  out my own way for years now lol. My plan was to start learning my theory and pass before July of my 19th year (this year), and start learning how to to drive from August - October. The goal is to drive an automatic car, but I'm going to learn how to drive manual anyway. I wanted to go for my driving test and hopefully pass, after I turned 20, so I'm on track already.

Pass Foundation Art and Design. Hm. If there is anything I want to do most, it's to pass my current course, and with flying colours haha. I would like a Distinction, but I would accept a Merit. I don't want anything lower than that. I want to get into my university choices and create more things, so I'm hoping I can make things good enough for me to pass.

Save 3k. If you wasn't following my blog last year, I'll tell you now that I got a job! I've been working a lot since then to save up for various things, so my goal for this year is to save up £3,000. It's doable, I calculated it haha. So if nothing stands in my way, which with my luck could very well be the case, I can reach this goal.

Go on Holiday. Probably the most far out goal I have here, but I guess you can say i've already reached this goal? I'm going on a trip with my college for a week. We haven't been told where it is, but we have been told it's not in the UK, so it's kinda like a vacation, although we have to work while on the trip lol.

Create my own business / content / set up online portfolio. Hm, this is something I've been wanting to do for a LONG time. Why be an artist if you never create anything on your own accord. I don't want my only pieces of artwork to be things that I did because I was told to do it in school and college. I want people to see my work that I created because I wanted to make it (whatever it is). I want to be able to someday make a living off my content, and I need to kickstart that dream by actually, well, starting it lol. I certainly don't expect to have a successful business by the end of the year, but just having a outline of a plan would be good enough for me. I gotta start somewhere, so I'll see where this takes me.

Blogging goals

Post at least once a week. I know people say quality over quantity, but I really want to be consistent with my blog. If I can manage that, I can have at least 52 posts for the whole year. That's should be the new standard for my blog, not my highest feat (2015's post count was 57).

Start mixing up my content more. I've got so much more to offer and I want my blog to reflect that. I want my blog to be me. Everything I do from cooking to reading to playing video games and watching anime and creating my own content, I want to showcase all of it here.

Increase my page views and follower count. For someone who has been blogging for 4 years now, my follower count has been sub-par, to say the least. I'm aiming to get all my social media accounts used to promote this blog up to at least 250, aiming for 500 by the end of the year.

Host more guest bloggers! I wanted to do this last year but I could not for the life of me find the time to set it up. So, I'm bringing it back for this year and starting right now!

I'm looking for bloggers who would like to write a post on my blog! Whatever kind of post you want to write is fine as long as it fits within my style of blogging (which, is pretty much everything lol). So If you want to show off your figure collection or do a baking tutorial and post it on my blog, ANYTHING, please send me an email at jasminech@outlook.com with the subject GUEST BLOG POST so that I know that you're interested!
Anyone who gets their post featured on my blog will have a link to their blog on my sidebar for a few months too!
Requirements: you have to be following me - you have have a link to my blog on your own blog - you have to have a similar blog style to mine!

So, that's it then! All my new year resolutions. I hope I can keep up with them all lol.. I don't have any impossible goals on here, so I think it's doable. Of course, I'll keep you all updated on when and if I reach these goals, so look out for those moments!
