Anime you should watch (Winter 2015 edition)

Hi everyone! Sorry about the lack of posts.. During the first few days of this year I managed to pull a ligament and sprain my ankle, which kind of put me out of action for a while. But I'm recovering, so it's all good~ If you stick around this week you can find out more about that in the next edition of Minae's Life! ^^

This post is coming at you all a little late, as I was supposed to post this last week (sorry!) so some of the anime on this list are already currently airing. It's not so bad though, because If you want to watch the anime listed, you'll only have to catch up 1-2 20 minute episodes! xD

Here is a list of cool anime that I'm planning to watch, and some that I think you all should check out too. ^^

Absolute Duo
 Absolute Duo

The story begins with Blaze—a weapon that is the manifestation of a human's soul. Tooru Kokonoe happens to be qualified for this, but for some reason his Blaze is not a weapon, but a shield. Moreover, he enrolled in a school that teaches combat skills, and thanks to the school's Duo partner system, he ends up living with a beautiful silver-haired girl.

Type: TV
Episodes: 12

Status: Currently Airing
Genres: Action, Ecchi, Romance, School, Harem, Supernatural
Duration: 24 min. per episode
Rating: R - 17+ (violence & profanity)

Minae's Note: For some reason, this reminds me of Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, which is my all time favorite anime. The plot isn't the same but it holds similarities, so I'm curious as to how this anime will play out~

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love!

This is the tale of five unlikely heroes who unite under the name of the "Earth Defense Club" alongside a pink wombat-like alien to defend their world and restore love to all; however, does a sinister organization lurk behind the scenes of Binan High school?

Type: TV
Episodes: 12
Status: Currently Airing
Genres: Comedy, Magic, Slice of Life
Duration: 24 min. per episode
Rating: PG-13 - Teens 13 or older

Minae's Note: The two anime that this reminded me of when I first saw the trailer was Maji LOVE 1000% and Sailor Moon, so I had to check it out! If you love these two anime you should give this one a try too, we may be surprised at the outcome haha ^^

Tokyo Ghoul √A

Minae's Note: There isn't much to say about this anime other than, If you loved Tokyo Ghoul, you should watch this series too. It's loosely based on the Manga and its directed along side Ishida himself (the original Tokyo Ghoul creator) so Ghoul fans can rejoice!

Warning!: It is quite gory (although its censored) so if you're squeamish like me you may need to avoid this anime.

Rolling☆Girls

Ten years after the Great Tokyo War, each prefecture in Japan has split up into independent nations. Each nation is ruled by a prophet called "Mosa" and an army called "Mob" as they start to compete to take over other countries. Four "Mob" girls from the Saitama clan, Nozomi, Yukina, Ai, and Chiaya, are ordered by their "Mosa" to mediate multiple battles between nations and clans as they emerge.

Genres: Slice of Life
Duration: 24 min. per episode
Rating: None

Minae's note: I'm actually pretty scared to watch this after seeing the genre "Slice of life" because recently Slice of life anime has been anything but that. Let's see if this anime leads a Sora no Method route or a Yuuki Yuuna route xD

I hope this post gave you some cool anime to add to your plan to watch lists! I for one still need to finish some of the fall anime from 2014, so I'll probably start watching these next week when I don't have to worry about mock exams ^^:
If you don't watch anime, you should give it a try. A lot of people find it weird and sometimes childish, but you can find pretty amazing anime with different types of genres and age ranges for everyone.

That's all for today! Thank you all so much for reading!
